The accurate and timely detection of pregnancy is an essential part of today's reproductive management in cattle farming. Veterinarians and farmers use early detection of non-pregnant (‘unoccupied’) cows and heifers to enable faster restocking and shorten the calving interval, thereby maximising rearing, milk production and farm revenues. Confirmation during the gestation and dry-off phases is economically very important. In addition, beef producers can test for pregnancy early in the various stages of production. Traditionally, pregnancy is detected by rectal palpation of the cow or by transrectal ultrasound (TU). The IDEXX Alertys* OnFarm Pregnancy Test provides a method to accurately detect pregnancy as early as 28 days after insemination and throughout pregnancy. This provides vets, dairy farms and beef producers with an important tool for the early detection of pregnant cows. The test can be used ≥70 days after calving.

Attention:
In winter, ensure that the test is carried out at room temperature. Blood, test cassette and the buffer should always be at room temperature!
